Peripheral blood nutrient indices as biomarkers for anti‑PD‑1 therapy efficacy and prognosis in patients with advanced gastric cancer

چکیده

Immunotherapy offers survival benefits for patients with advanced gastric cancer, but not all populations can benefit from immunotherapy. Good nutritional status is fundamental to a patient's immune function and may have an impact on the efficacy of The present study aimed investigate changes in prognostic index (PNI), lung cancer inflammation (ALI) albumin‑globulin ratio (AGR) values before after immunotherapy cancer. also determine potential association aforementioned patient outcomes prognosis. Body mass (BMI), serum albumin, total protein, peripheral blood lymphocyte, neutrophil, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen19‑9 (CA19‑9) a‑fetoprotein (AFP) data were collected 195 who underwent January 2020 October 2021. In addition, PNI, ALI AGR calculated based variables within 3 days prior weeks results demonstrated that low PNI was associated elevated CEA levels. Moreover, levels reduced BMI levels, AFP PD‑L1 negative first‑line treatment. Comparison responding non‑responding groups revealed responded had higher than did respond, both treatment, lower CA19‑9 Furthermore, group, decreased increased following treatment compared those objective response disease control rates high groups, respectively. found be independent predictors short‑term cut‑off 47.18 1.29, Univariate analysis progression‑free (PFS) patients, while multivariate baseline PFS. conclusion, tumor progression leads decline level indicated effective alleviate this deterioration certain extent. exhibit predicting prognosis as biomarkers clinical practice.

Concomitant Increase of OX40 and FOXP3 Transcripts in Peripheral Blood of Patients with Breast Cancer

Background: Regulatory T cells (T-regs) have an important role in cancer by suppression of protective antitumor immune responses. Regulatory T cells express the forkhead/winged helix transcription factor (FOXP3) and OX40 molecules which have important regulatory roles in the immune system. Objective: To evaluate FOXP3 and OX40 transcripts in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of women with ...

Investigation of NK Cell Population in Peripheral Blood and Tumor Lesions of Patients with Breast Cancer

Background: Alteration in peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) is usually investigated to provide an evidence of the host immune responses to tumor antigens. The tumor infiltrating NK cells interact most closely with the tumor cells and more accurately reflect tumor host interactions. Objective: To analyze peripheral blood and tumor associated Natural Killer (NK) cells in patients with breast ca...

MicroRNAs as biomarkers associated with bladder cancer

Bladder cancer is the fifth most common cancer with significant morbidity and mortality. Recently, numerous studies demonstrated that microRNAs are emerging as diagnostic biomarkers for bladder cancer. Specific miRNA profiles have been identified for several samples from patients with bladder cancer. MicroRNAs are noncoding RNA molecules of approximately 23 nucleotides that play important roles...

Expression of Two Basic mRNA Biomarkers in Peripheral Blood of Patients with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Detected by Real-Time RT-PCR, Individually and Simultaneously

Introduction: Although extensive research has been conducted on lung cancer markers, a singular clinically applicable marker has not been found yet. The objective of this study was to evaluate the sensitivity and the specificity of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) mRNA and lung-specific X protein (LUNX) mRNA biomarkers in peripheral blood to detect lung cancer individually and simultaneously. Met...

FoxP3+ Regulatory T Cells in Peripheral Blood of Patients with Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

Background: Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of death from malignancy in women. CD4 +CD25+FoxP3+ regulatory T (Treg) cells are a subset of T lymphocytes with great inhibitory impact on immune response. Objectives: To investigate the percentage of CD4 +CD25+FoxP3+ regulatory T cells in the peripheral blood of the Iranian patients with epithelial ovarian cancer compared to healthy women ...
